Cyber Breach May 2022

CYBER BREACH MAY 2022

We wish to advise all enrolled patients of a recent cyber incident which occurred in May 2022, that has impacted our internal systems caused by a phishing (scam) email.  We are extremely sorry this happened, and it is important to know the issue is fully resolved.

We have notified all enrolled patients via Letter of Notification.

Background:

To further enhance our services, we recently transitioned to a new IT service provider.  As part of the procurement process, a full cyber security check was conducted which revealed a cyber breach. We have notified the Privacy Commission and other agencies of the incident.

We take these matters very seriously and an expression of kaitiakitanga, our top priority has been to work with experts to understand the potential impacts.  We have taken additional steps to secure the information of our patients. To date, we cannot specifically identify if any patient related information has been compromised but wish to advise that all patient records are managed in a separate system, Indici.
